Ivan Maria Friedman expresses himself through different forms of artistic expression. One of his last photo series, « Guardians of Paradise », caught our attention.
The self-taught Swiss photographer is very interested in exploring human feelings. It is during these 4 trips to Burma that he brings back this series of strong portraits. Ivan documents the life of the people living in what he experienced as « one of the last paradises on earth », and give his vison of the culture in an authentic way through the faces, customs and traditions of the local population.
« I discovered a world where beauty do not need to be artificially created, as it seam to be naturally flowing out of people’s simple lifstyle, the close connection they have with Nature and the spontaneity and authenticity of thier minds and hearts. »
